About Nancy

All About The Artist

Nancy enjoys painting with oil using brush and pallet knife. She does acrylic paintings, pastels, water paintings and soapstone carvings.Her studio is located in Oro Medonte.

Her passion for horses and nature provides the inspiration for her paintings of landscapes, horses and other animal portraits. She enjoys creating calm scenic landscapes and sunsets seen throughout Simcoe County, Muskoka and Georgian Bay.

The Dark Horse Artistry logo is from Nancy’s oil painting of her own mare who shows us the energy, strength and beauty of the horse. The original painting is owned by Chris Irwin and displayed at his Riversong Ranch in Alberta.

Her education includes Art Design and Photography at Georgian College and the Chartered Insurance Professional designation. Nancy is also a Certified Chris Irwin Horse Trainer and teaches Equine Assisted Personal Development.

Nancy is a member of the Barrie Art Club and Artists at the Gibson in Alliston. Her paintings are displayed in private homes in Oro Medonte, throughout Ontario, Alberta and England.

Nancy has two grown sons with families of their own including her five grandchildren.
